307 (Stamping Number on Engine Reads GM 3970020) this stamping
number indicates a 307 motor (a 307 is a 283 with a 327 crank), the 307 replaced
the 283, it is basically the same block with a longer stroke, and a 327 crank,
so you get the best of both worlds, not sure on horsepower but with a four
barrel carburetor, headers and not emission modified it should be fairly decent.
The car also has a three speed automatic transmission with a B & M shifter,
headers, new exhaust system (68 Camaro Mufflers) from the headers back, three
inch chrome exhaust tips, brand new tires, electronic ignition, new spark plug
wires, new battery, new brake hoses, new gauges, reproduction electronic radio
with new front replacement dual speaker, all new weather stripping, new
replacement mirrors, new replacement door handles, fresh paint, the car was hand
sanded, primed, sealed and painted Black and then clear coated. Someone had
started a restoration of the interior years ago and it is in pretty decent
shape. The box under the bed is in excellent shape. It runs really well and
shifts through the gears like it should. The car runs at about 190 degrees. This
car sounds like a 60's Muscle Car. When I bought the car the previous owner told
me a fresh engine had been installed at 48,740 miles, I have the paperwork
pertaining to this. Last year I had all the fluids drained and replaced and it
passed a New York State inspection. The only problems that I can see that need
to be fixed are that the fan blower lever will need to be fixed (the heater does
work), rhinoline the bed, finish up the interior and paint the engine. I have
the emblems for the sides and the back. The car is a daily diver and would not
cost you a lot of money to complete it. It is a nice car for the money, it is
not a show car and I am not asking for a show car price, if you are looking for
a show car you are going to pay double the price of my reserve. This is a great
car to just putt around in. I urge you to see it before you bid on it, also as
with any car this age it is sold without a warranty or a guarantee. Any
questions feel free to ask. According to most account Chevrolet only produced
23,000 of these in 1967, they are becoming harder to find as time goes by. I
will consider a trade for a Large Harley Davidson, no Sportsters, no Foreign
bikes, no Japanese and no Italian bikes. I already own a Sportster and don't
want another one.
